6 Ways That Water Pollution Could Be Beneficial (A Satirical Look at Water Pollution)

No doubt the term "Water Pollution" has negative connotations attached to it. We've heard nothing but bad things about water pollution for years, and some valid points to be sure. But how about the other side of the story?

Could there possibly be some benefits to the world that come from water pollution? Of course there can be!

As you will see from the following pictures, there are ways in which water pollution can enrich our lives.

Way #6: It Could Someday Help Us Break the Petro-Dependency

For example, you've probably heard about big oil companies finding ways to convert algae into bio-diesel. Talk about enriching! Someday we will be able to shirk the chains of petro-fuel dependency thanks to new technologies such as this. Once the production of bio-diesel goes mainstream, this algae polluted body of water will become a gold mine!
And as a side benefit, kids love swimming in water like this. In the picture above, we see a young boy and his friends enjoying a game of "Hide and Go Seek" in a pond full of algae. Try pulling that off in a clear running stream!

Way #5 : It Can Create Opportunities For New and Exciting Hobbies

Look at this guy for example. He recently discovered the joys of wading through oil slicks in a rubber suit, hunting for tiger shrimp amongst the islands of floating hay straw. It's good to see people get out of the house and do fun and interesting things, rather than sit around watching TV. This is the kind of activity an entire family can enjoy together on nice sunny days. If you're lucky enough, something like this could happen in your neck of the woods, and provide you with a way to get your kids off the goddam cell phones for a while.

Way #4 It Could Sometimes Be Healthier To Drink Than Clean Water

Forget "Vitamin Water", gimme some of this stuff!
This is obviously a drinking water reservoir, otherwise people would be swimming and fishing here.
Don't let the sludgy appearance fool you, this water is just loaded with stuff that is good for you. Don't believe it? Just look at the size of that fish there, basking in the sun. Ever see something like that in a so- called "Nice clean drinking reservoir"?.......... Didn't think so.
Which leads us to our next benefit......

Way #3 : It Can Make Fishing A Lot Easier

Here we see a man who knows what he's doing. He has years of experience fishing in water where garbage is frequently dumped. He knows that all he has to do is stand there with some buckets and a net, and the fish will jump right in on their own free will! Odds are good that in the next ten minutes, he'll have all he can do to drag those buckets back to shore, loaded with fresh, lively fish.

Way #2 : It Can Be Tasty!

Who says water pollution has to taste yucky? Depending on the selection, you may find some types of water pollution to be downright delicious. The person in this picture seems to be enjoying their nice glass of polluted water. You aren't likely to see people drinking their lifeless, tasteless, bottled water with the same level of enthusiasm!
And the best part is, you get all that flavor without any added sugar.

Way #1 : It Can Help People Get More Protein In Their Diets

Who says big business never does anything nice for the little guy? The man in this picture would probably disagree wholeheartedly! Just look at all those fresh, ready to pick, protein packed fish! No need to bother sitting there with a line in the water, hoping one or two fish might come swallow a worm with a hook in it! All anyone has to do is get out there and grab them! With enough baskets and buckets, you could have plenty of fish to feed a whole village in no time flat.
And the best part is, those fish just started going belly up less than 10 hours ago! (The general rule of thumb is to pick fish that have been belly up for less than 48 hours, unless they still wiggle a little bit, in which case they're automatically considered prime picking).

So, now that you've read this, there should be no doubt in your mind that water pollution isn't all bad. Right?
